Israel's Saddest Day of the Year Yom HaZikaron Interview with Dr. Gabrielle Klein on the Avrum Rosensweig Show Sunday, May 12, 2004
To mark Yom HaZikaron, Avrum Rosensweig and Eli Rubenstein interviewed Dr. Gabrielle Klein. A native of Toronto, Gabrielle, together with her husband and children made Aliyah to Israel from Toronto in 2000.
During the October 7th attack on Israel, Gabrielle’s son Shlomo was on the front lines defending his fellow soldiers and civilians. In an epic battle, after taking a bullet to his arm, he fought off the terrorists for hours, and is currently in rehab.
Soon afterward, Gabrielle’s daughter Rivka, engaged to a soldier, received that call all Israelis fear most. Her fiancé, Hanan, who was critically wounded in battle in Gaza, had succumbed to his injuries. Like so many other young Israeli soldiers, he died fighting for Israel and the Jewish people.
Avrum and Eli have known Gabrielle and her husband Dennis since their friendship began during their university days.
