Last week, one of our members, Fern Levitt (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fern_Levitt ), returned from a two week trip to Israel, where she and her husband Arnie volunteered to help Israel, still recovering from the Oct. 7th attacks.
The day after her return, she was interviewed on The Avrum Rosensweig Show about her time in Israel, as well as her extraordinary career as an award winning documentary filmmaker. During her over 3 decades as a filmmaker, Fern has covered such diverse topics as human rights, the Holocaust, discrimination against Blacks in the US, the fall of the Soviet Union, and most recently, animal abuse, focusing on the mistreatment of sled dogs and the cruel confinement of elephants in zoos.
Over the course of her career, Fern's interview subject have included, among others, former Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr., Mikhail Gorbachev, Vaclav Havel, and Eduard Shevardnadze.
